Has anyone done this as a day trip? How did you find it? Who did you fly with? Feedback greatly appreciated!

I haven't done this but friends have, all had a brilliant time, absolutely freezing though so make sure you have this covered adequately. Cold dcs are miserable dcs!

DD and I did it and it was an amazing experience. Make sure you've got all the proper kit as keeping warm is really important, it was down at - 17 when we went. We did one of the less commercialised trips that concentrated on activities in a forest rather than shopping time so I'd say get a trip that matches what you want to do as all the trips vary. Spent our day husky dog sledding, reindeer sleigh riding, listening to stories in a tent and snowmobiling along a frozen river.

I'd also say that younger children found it a very long and very cold day, so I would only take over 5s (my daughter was 8 or 9 when we went, I cant recall which). The only other bit of advice I'd have is to look at your itinerary very carefully and if necessary, take some snacks for the children as we had a long gap between meals and some children were getting very hungry. Cant really recommend a company as we went about 8 years ago so everything will have changed, but its absolutely worth doing and have a brilliant time.

Hi
I booked with Metier too and it seems good so far. Aircraft is a Thomson plane. Lets hope they dont let us down. :)

I saw a package yesterday in the travel agents for £1200 reduced from £1700 for 4 nights, 2 adults/2 kids.

Remember its about 3 hours flying time each way and 2 hours at airport for checking in.
