My parents are very generously offering to take us all on holiday in April next year as it's midway between both of their 60th birthdays. We need to find somewhere which fits the following requirements and I hope that some of you might have some suggestions:
- Probably Canary Islands but suggestions for other European destinations welcome - must be very close to the sea and have nice weather in April
- Hotel, not self-catering, and a good quality hotel (4 or 5 star)
- There will be my parents, my brother and sister in law, my sister and us (2 adults, 1 nearly 4-year old and one 18 months) - we will be spending some time together (meals, evenings) but want somewhere with space so we don't have to see each other if we don't feel like it
- Entertainment/things to do for the children, or at least a child-friendly hotel
- Not just English food
- Not more than an hour's transfer from airport
Don't know if that's a very demanding list or not (we've not had a holiday for 5 years and have never travelled abroad with the children). Anyway, as April's only 6 months away I think we need to book quite soon so if anybody has any suggestions/first hand experience i'd be very grateful!
