originally was planning to buy a cheapy travel cot as we will not use often, from US amazon and get shipped to where we are staying in San Fran but now not so sure...

the cheapest one is this:

but looks a bit uncomfy and negatives are that DD won't have opportunity to get used to it before we arrive... does anyone know of a cheapish travel cot thats light/small enough to pack in a case?? or is my original plan best....

thanks x x x

Are you staying in a hotel? They can usually provide a travel cot. I usually think they are not very comfortable, so I used to ask for a spare bed sheet and fold it up to put on top of the travel cot base. DD was fine with that.

Try a Samsonite pop-up cot like this

we have a littlelife travel cot it weighs 2.5kg it fitted in our suit case. You may be able to bundle it up with your pushchair.

It fits quite a long child and you can use the mattress without the cot when the don't need the cot. My tall 4 year old would still fit on it.
Don't think they do the one we had but this is similar The sun shade can be useful for stopping a just waking up child seeing that you are in the room, which can give you extra sleep
