Lots of direct trains across the north west to Blackpool North - go to www.trainline.co.uk. When you get there, make your way to North Pier and catch an illuminated tram to tour the Illuminations - kids will love it. Go to www.visitBlackpool.com/illuminations to check switch on times and what else is on. Have an illuminating time!
