We are having a family holiday to Toronto in November (Me,DH,DD, my mum, dad, brother and SIL).

Last two times I went there I was childless and single and I'm not sure my intimate knowledge of the pubs and clubs are going to be much good for keeping DD (4.4) occupied! We will be there for the Christmas parade, but would also like to know where is best for seeing Santa individually and all other suggestions welcome!

bumping for you - we're hoping to go at Easter next year, with dc age 4 but also older ones.

So far lonely planet and rough guide from my library are my only sources....

I've family there so we visit regularly. If you will have a car the science centre is very good in the children's activity areas (two separate sections) or they enjoy the CN Tower.

All of the malls (Yorkdale is a good one) will do a big "visit Santa" display. It's something I used to do as a child growing up there.

What part of Toronto will you be visiting? I can check with my brother, he's in Brampton though so only knows the west side of the city.

We will be right in the city, just off Yonge Street, but willing to travel around Smile

Also is it worth going to the Toronto Islands in November?

Bingtata I'm not sure what will be on the islands at that time of year, it was always a summer thing for us.

I'd go with the CN tower & santa at the mall. Also, we love the Mill Street Brewery Brew Pub (more like a restaurant) in the Distillery district and in fact the whole Distillery District in general. It's reasonably kid-friendly although adult orientated. www.thedistillerydistrict.com/

Thank abdnhiker, I have now managed to find a list of mall santas by googling Yorkdale so will definately do that. Will look out for the distillery district too.
