Do I dare takeTrunki as cabin bag on Ryanair?

Flying on Saturday morning and my little girl will be so disappointed if we can't take Trunki. I'll be gutted if we have to pay a fine to Ryanair. There is one thread about it from July when it seemed ok. Anyone had more recent experience? Many thanks x

Ryanair are not consistent; Sometimes they check all the bags in the rack sometimes they don't.

I'm afraid I don't know how big a trunki is so I can't help further.

My dd always takes her trunki with her on ryanair and had no problem. Think it must be within their size limits

RyanAir didn't weigh or check the dimensions of our cabin baggage last weekend.

when we flew with ryanair (from east midlands) they didn't check or weight any hand luggage. i was really surprised at some of the bags people were taking on board, some were huge. 1 lady did get queried when she took her bag on board, but as it had been let though at the gate with no questions, she wasn't charged, but ti did have to go down to the hold as it was too big to fit in the overhead locker.

We flew recently with airsouthwest with a trunki. No problems at all - they were more interested in the weight of the hand luggage than dimensions - had to repack some stuff from mine into the kids carry ons. Blush Though in my defence we were flying with no hold luggage so I had to have heaps of stuff.

We went to France in the summer and both dss took their trunkis no problems. The fit perfectly under their seats.

frasersmummy · 22/10/2010 21:13

We flew easy jet earlier this year and there were a few trunkis on board ..inc ouurs.. didnt even raise an eye brow

I feel better for this. We fly tomorrow and the pink trunki is packed. Let's hope common sense prevails over the 0.5 cm!Thanks all x x
