as I need to pack for our holiday on thursday at Lykia World in Olu Deniz. Looking at various websites I'm getting totally different ideas about current temperatures and one website says rain rain rain! Please tell me that's wrong and I need to pack shorts and t shirts and bikinis Smile

I'm not in Turkey at the moment but my husband's family all live there. The weather isn't too good at the moment I'm afraid, it has been raining quite a bit but it looks like it should be brightening up a bit this week.

I would still pack the shorts and bikini but take a jacket and umbrella just in case too.

I hope it does clear up for you.

Yes, it will still be warm in the day. the evenings do tend to get a bit chilly though. The weather does look like it is getting better as from thursday so you may be in luck!

thanks nefret. I'm just packing now. Short sleeves, long sleeves, bikinis, jeans. Much easier when we went in August and we knew it was just going to be HOT.

I went in August too and was seriously hot! Have a great time, I would be happy to be there even in the rain ;-)

Oh no! At least you had 5 good days though and you were prepared for some rain.

Did you have a good time apart from the rain?

yes thank you, even though when we arrived at Dalaman airpost the Thomas Cook rep told us that we would not be going to Lykia World after all. Apparently the bug that has been doing the rounds most of the summer had reached silly levels and so they, and some other tour companies, decided to stop sending guests there.

I'm just pleased we'd booked through a tour operator this time - we ususally book direct with lykia and sort our own flights.

We'd have probably ended up all of us being sick by the sounds of the tales being posted in Trip Advisor.

We had to slum it in the new Hilton Golf and Spar Resort instead Smile. We did miss all the activities that we usually do as a family (at Lykia we do archery, golf, wall climbing, tennis etc) but the 5 star food and the lovely suite, complete with it's own massive jaccuzi and the lovely wine and cocktails made up for it!!
