Buggies on planes

Have booked cheap easyjet flights (no connection to the finger post) and without really thinking it through, have realised that the ungodly 7am flight will involve a very tired 4yo sight-seeing for several hours until our hosts will be home to put us up.

Long story short, we will need the buggy if LO is to survive the day: according to their website they allow buggies free of charge but I can hardly believe it considering the hefty charges for luggage (yes I know the flights are cheap) and I don't want to risk any bleary eyed nonsense at the airport at 6am.

My question is then: have any of you any experience of buggies and easyjet?

Also, do I need to let them know in advance?

Eek.....used to be bit of globe-trotter pre-child. I need to learn all over again!

The buggy is free but you do have to check it in - you get to keep it until the gate then get it back on carousel. No problems so far!
