Need to find a parking space in London, for Monday, near the strand. dh is going on business and dd2 and I are tagging along for the ride/day out (coming from southampton). Trying to avoid going by train. I have no idea about parking around there, is it impossible/ easy? do I have to book or anything? any Londoners please help me out?!

Sorry, I don't know of any car parks - is it worth looking up the NCP website? They might have a list. If it were me, I'd park up at an outlying station and get the train the rest of the way!

I would agree with the response re the NCP car park sites; however, car parking in London is certainly not cheap!. Also if you drive into London you will have to pay London's congestion charge (currently £8 for the day and you will have to buy this in advance).

TBH you'd be better off going by train. Thought trains from Southampton go into Waterloo; would get a taxi from there to the Strand area.
