Saffron Desi on Micklegate for Indian. Amazing naan breads!!

Mexican has to be El Gringos on Clarence Street.

Italian is a little place on the Shambles. I think it is called ??? Will come to me maybe. Deli downstairs and restaurant upstairs.

Chinese is Willow on Coney Street.

Thai is place on Goodramgate, have eaten there but can't remember name!!

There is are all the usual chains but the pizza express on Lendal bridge is a lovely setting.

French restaurant behind Jorvik centre very good and authentic.

Tapas down an alleyway behind Browns on St Sampsons square.

For really posh nosh then Meltons on Scarcroft Road is to be recommended but never been myself.

There really are so many eateries and a lot of independents. I am sorry about not knowing some of the names but it isn't until now I realise I just go straight to them and don't take notice of street and place names!!

Let me know if you ave any specific types of food and I will try and help more.

I love El Gringos!

Ask is indeed a beautiful building, very nice food too.

Tapas - I think you may mean La Tasca?

Biltmore is lovely but fairly pricey. Blue bicycle is supposed to be great (haven't been, but reccomended by other) Ate O Clock and 19 Grape Lane are v nice. All on the pricier side, but lovely.

There are masses of places to eat in york, most of which are very nice. Hope you have a fun time!

Firstly apologies for not saying we were staying at The Riverside and that we were looking at Italian/French/Modern cuisine. However, I've passed your recommendations on to the girls and hope to book one of them (I like the look of them all!).

Thanks so much - your help is much appreciated.
