You will travel from St Pancras International. It is separate from their domestic rail lines.

Not much... They're attached to each other. The Eurostar one (International) has some nice shops, cafes and a nice pub... Oooooh and a fancy oyster, champagne bar.

St Pancras International is a very large modern building, with lots of shops and places to eat, and easy access to the underground. Make sure you allow the required time to go through passport control and security checks, then look for your departure platform number on the signs.

Get there about an hour before your train leaves then you can get your tickets and get a coffee and a nice pastry etc before you go. It took us about 25 mins to get our tickets checked and go through security and we ran out of time to go to Paul's :(

We check in about an hour before our train. When we went last year, in early December, there were quite long queues for the security machines. ( the same as you get in airports). Then one of my sons was pulled over for a random luggage check, so he had to unpack his case, then repack. This took some time, so never cut it too fine.( I suspect that security will be especially tight at present following the recent threats).
You can buy drinks and sandwiches/ snacks once you have gone through passport control and security.
