Thomas at teh Buckinghamshire railway - anyone been?

We've got tickets to take DS and his friend to the Thomas Day Out at the Buckinghamshire railway on sunday and we're trying to work out the best time to go.

Has anyone any advise please who's been there before.
The carpark opens at 10am and the railway itself opens at 10.30. We cant decide whether to get there for 10am or to let the rush go first and get there about 12.30/1pm. Any thoughts?

TIA

We're going too! We'll probably go earlier rather than later.

RTKangaMummy · 07/09/2005 20:53

you used to be able to go for rides as many times as you like

as long as you are prepared for queueing

mckenzie · 07/09/2005 21:27

thanks everybody.
Lynny70 - We'll be coming from junction 25 of the M25. M25 then A41 I guess huh?

oh can you give me details of where this is? or one closer to me in herts.

mckenzie · 07/09/2005 21:33

hi Misdee, I think this is the closest one to Herts. It's on saturday and sunday. Pre-booked tickets have now finished but you can buy tickets on the day. (I think then it will be £8.5 for adults and £6.5 for children).

The railway is in Quainton in Buckinghamshire. It's open from 10.30 until 5.30. The rides are then free on Thomas and some fo his friends and they also have some other netertainment (punch and Judy shows etc).

I've been dd was somewhere between 2 and a half and 3. She loved it and still talks about it now. It's ok, dd loved it. There's not much there though hth

did you enjoy it Logic?

We had a brilliant day and I'm so pleased we took Mumsnetter's advice and went early. We hardly had to queue for anything but by about 1.30pm it was very busy. And the rain held off, lucky us.

Great day out, thoroughly recommend it.
