I have booked a holiday for my family in Menorca in september next year. All paid for and insurance in place.

However, what would happen if I got pregnant and had a newborn by then (long story!)?

Is there anyway I could I cancel the holiday and get my money back or would going abroad with a newborn be feasible?

No, you would have to pay extra for your newborn.
TBH I wouldnt risk it, you have no idea when your baby will come, or how you will feel afterwards.
I would ask the holiday company to change the date for you, either go when your baby would be about 3 months old, or go before youre 32 weeks.

FWIW im not against holidays with babies, its great, but just thinking about how I couldnt walk for 2 months after having dc3, a holiday would deffo not have been on my agenda

You wouldn't be able to claim back on insurance unless it was medically certified that you cannot travel. Otherwise you would forfeit a proportion of the cost based on a sliding scale set out in the t and c's depending how late you cancel. Agree it may be easier to negotiate a change to the booking but even then there may be a fee to amend the booking and extra to pay. As long as you have time to register the birth and get him/her a passport then travelling with a baby isn't impossible. It might be mroe straightforward to put ttc on hold until the spring !

Yes have checked and its loss of deposit - which I could live with.

I'm with you, mosschops, I wouldnt want to take a newborn on hols either!

INSURANCE ADVICE NEEDED.
I'm hoping to travel to Portugal in October for a weeks holiday. I'll be 28 weeks pregnant. I need to book it now which is before I can get a "fit to fly" letter the week of the holiday. I want to get insurance to cover us in case we need to cancel but that will also cover us. Has anyone had any good insurance? Thanks in advance. XSmile
