Has anyone been for a short break or week in Gibraltar? If so, is there much to do for a 2.5year old?

There are some cheap flights online but I cant decide whether to go for it.... all I keep reading about is tax free shopping, casinos and of course the monkeys!

Is there much going on there for a family break? thanks for anyone who can help.

I lived out there for 6 months 5 years ago.

To be honest, it's quite a small place and if the weather is bad not so much to do. The good trips to do are to go up the rock and see the apes, there are a few boat trips to go see some dolphins and there is a beach on the other side of the rock if that's your thing. Oh, and St Michael's cave is quite nice too. The food is good and everything is in walking distance. But if I had the choice personally I would go to Spain instead!

We went for the day once. We only lasted a morning we were so bored and couldn't wait to walk back across the border to La Linea. I remember blocks of flats, a dirty underpass nr a Pizza Hut, an M and S and some tatty pubs and cheap electrical shops.
