Summer hols 2011 - where to go?

Requirements -

Me, DH, DS's 10 and 6.

Hot , but not TOO hot. Am thinking, Balearics, Portugal?
Beach/pool

Maybe hotel - but not a full on family one with constant day and night entertainment.

Or self catering - anyone got a recommendation please?

Have only taken the DCs abroad once - we went to Menorca and they absolutely loved it. The flight is only two hours and we had daytime flights with First Choice (and I mean proper daytime, not an 8am flight which means you have to get there at 6am plus travel time ie you have to leave in the middle of the night )

It's a small island so the transfer times are short, great weather, variety of hotels and apartments but not too built up. have a look at the First Choice website there is loads of choice.
