We are getting married next August and DD will be 13 months. All my ILs are coming over from Australia for the wedding. The plan is that we will have a weeks holiday before the wedding and then me, DH and DD will go off on Honeymoon after.

The week before we are originally thinking of going to Andelucia, but I think that it will just be too hot for DD in southern spain in August? What do people think?

Where in Europe would people suggest, considering they are travelling all the way from Oz and we want to get a big villa and chill as well as be somewhere beautiful and interesting (not much to ask I know :) !)

We were also thinking about Greece or Italy for the honeymoon, but again I am worried now about the heat for DD.

Advice and experience would be greatly appreciated. And any suggestions of good places to go also. Thanks!

Congratulations!

I wouldn't worry about the heat at all. It rarely gets higher than 30deg C in Southern Europe and if you're somewhere by the sea the breeze is nice. Greece may verge on being too hot but I think it's the humidity that would affct them most (ie in the tropics, etc).

Andalucia is gorgeous. So is Tuscany, the lakes in Italy and the South of France. We have been there with DSs (now 2.8 and 14m) over the last few years and they coped fine.

Ds2 was only 4 months when we went to Argentina in temperatures higher than 35 C and he was fine. Carry a pop up UV tent with you to provide shade, a UV shade a babe for the pushchair, UV all in one swimsuit, hat and SPF 50 sunblock and she'll be fine. You can also get a mosquito net for the cot and a little ladybird device to clip onto pushchair to keep bugs away.

I think she'd love it. So will your family.
