travel to Dominican Republic Passport help

Can someone help reassure me?

We are travelling to the DR coming back on the 25th Oct.

My boys' passports run out in Nov 2010. I have rung the DR embassey and they say that this in fine.

Dh thinks that they might need to have 6 months excess on them?

I don't want to go through the stress of sending them off express (we go in two weeks), especially when they have said its ok?

Does anyone know?
Thanks

It must be valid for twice the amount of time that the person is staying in the country. So if you are going for two weeks it must be valid for four weeks on the date of entry.

We go on the 14th for 10 days and their passports expire on the 9th Nov.

Phew! Tip- if you still have to pay to leave the country make sure you have a little bit more than the tour operator tells you. It can erm, rise a bit when you get to the backpocketsof customs officials
Have a great time!

We had to pay to get in, but I don't recall paying to leave. US dollars.

you have to pay to get in and out- cheeky buggers!
Enjoy your holiday, DR is a lovely place.
