advice on holiday destinations near Singapore

We're travelling to Singapore next Easter to meet friends from NZ. We will have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Any recommendations as to where to stay? We have 2 weeks and we were thinking about one of the islands near Singapore - a short flight or a ferry ride..

Bali, stunning, child friendly and only a two hour flight away. Would avoid Bintan, very priced and not very authentic

Penang or Pangkor island in Malaysia are both beautiful and around an hours flight :)

I second Bali, stunning and yes very child friendly.

Bali - Just went with 2.6 DS1 and 10-months-old DS2 and DS1 had a blast but travelling around was a bit much for DS2.

Where in Bali? Don't know anything about it?
