Sunday lunch in Winchester

Anyone know where is good for Sunday lunch in Winchester with a toddler? The place where we've gone in the past doesn't allow children under 6 - DS is just 2 which shows how long it is since we've been there!

We want a proper restaurant rather than PE or anywhere like that.

Typed a long message and bloody MN went down. Recommend The Plough at Sparsholt for traditional Sunday lunch or Dim T (Asian fusion, noodles, dim sum etc) in town. Shout if you want to know more about either - can't be arsed to type it all out again unless you're really interested! Grin

And if you find anywhere good, come back and tell me! I have this problem relatively frequently and I'm getting bored of the same two places!

We need somewhere in town really, and I'm not sure that DS (never mind my parents who we are eating with!) will cope with dim sum.

I've had a look online and atm I'm thinking Loch Fyne. Nice food for us and a decent children's menu for DS.

Never been to the one in Winchester with kids in tow - let me know how it goes!

Did you used to go to the Vine, btw? Their kids policy is a real pain.

Yes that's where we used to go! Love it in there, really good food. Hadn't even occurred to me that we wouldn't be able to take DS at a lunchtime, evenings maybe.

Never mind - once he is '6 years old and well-behaved' (that's from their website!) then we'll be able to take him.
