Anyone been to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote?

Is it nice? Am thinking of going in a couple of weeks time, with 3 yo DTs and grandparents. Want somewhere that we don't need a car, can walk to a warm sandy beach/restaurants/shops etc so don't need buggies. Have found a nice looking place to stay, but don't know anyone who's ever been there!!

Any ideas? (Or anywhere else that would be recommended?)

Oh yes, pool lovely and warm, about 27 degrees most days. DH and GP spent about 3 hours bobbing around in the pool with the kids! Toddler pool was freezing cold though, hideous. Couldn't even put feet in there!

ENjoy, am jealous of you going there again. Looking fwd to going back!

Have a lovely time though, QOD, we did! Are you staying at the Princess Yaiza hotel? It looked fabulous from the outside. Am most envious at you going there!!

QOD - we went last October but stayed in a villa. Best holiday we've ever had! Lovely weather, lovely marina with shops and restaurants. Hire car meant we travelled the whole island in a week and still had loads of beach and pool time!

Enjoy!

We went last Easter and had a lovely time - and it's much cheaper than France to eat out wher we spent a month in the summer!

I love it Smile we stayed just behind las Brisas in a villa and it's really convenient. Smile

and yes I'd recommend hiring a car too.

We love Lanzorote Grin

First went to Playa Blanca in 1986 to Las Casitas, smaller Wimpey resort opposite Las Brisas.

It has been amazing over the years to see how Playa Blanca has developed, when we first went their were 3 resturants on the waterfront to choose from!!

Still love going back now with my parents and dd.

Fantastic family friendly resort.

we are going to playa blanca at feb half term. is it better to hire a car or use taxis? its suppossed to be a cheap holiday for us and we have a lovely villa so we are not too concerned about seeing the whole island. i just want to see the volcanoes. if we do get car hire can anyone recommend a company? could we just use them for the volcano visit or would it be more cost effective to hire for the week?

thanks.

We went to Playa Blanca in Dec '01 I think it was, we stayed in the Hesperia hotel, it was a lovely place.

QOD - oooh we're staying in the (slightly cheaper) sister hotel - Dream Castillo Patagiyo (sp?) in the New Year! I can't wait. Grin We went for all inclusive, just so we don't have to worry about anything once we get there. Its my 1st proper holiday in around 9 years, so really looking forward to it.
