mwahahahahaha .. you know Chris Rea's 'Road to Hell' song .. that was the M25 .. it is crapola

have you checked routefinder?

misdee · 05/09/2005 18:05

hahaha. isnthat a silly questions?

honest answers, somedays it will be fine, other days its hell.

SenoraPostrophe · 05/09/2005 18:06

yes anticlockwise - through the dartford tunnel.

the aa is fine for guessing route times without crappy traffic, but I don't know how much to add for it being rush hour.

I'd leave oh at least 3 days before....

junctions 21/22 are very bad at rush hour times. sorry!

SenoraPostrophe · 05/09/2005 18:19

as I suspected.

OK - so do i tell a big client i can't do the meeting, or do i make it later, change my return flight to saturday and move my birthday bbq to next week. meeting has already been rearranged 4 or 5 times, but the latest change was theirs.

I wish i had a proper job.

As your going north there are a few options to get off the m25 a little earlier, and as you will be going north this roads will be generally quietier, you could try a10 and then cut across to the a1, go up the a1 and little and then cut off accross country to join the m1, either at Luton or a bit further north on the a1 and cut across to just before milton keynes.

Or stay on the m25 a little longer and go directly up the a1 and cut across to Luton or Milton Keynes.

SenoraPostrophe · 05/09/2005 18:22

I have to leave by 12 (pref 11.30) as it is because flight is at 3.30 from gatwick. I think it's all cutting it far too fine.

OP posts:
SenoraPostrophe · 05/09/2005 18:23

actually, would it be that bad at 6am?

Jct. 4 (M25) to jct 21 takes 45 minutes if the traffic is free running (which it generally is at 6am although leave it any later and it will start slowing down). I would add on 30-60 mins. for traffic congestion delays and then add on whatever the M1 - Rugby section takes. If you get stuck in some horrendous accident related jam it's hardly your fault.

WideWebWitch · 05/09/2005 20:43

Senora, can't you do a netmeeting? Gotta be worth it to avoid the M25.
