DD will be 3 and this will be our last holiday before DC2 is born so don't want to travel to far afield. Does anyone have any experience of the Canaries at this time of year. TIA!

Reckon it'll be around low-mid 20's middle of the day, long trousers and cardi/sweater in the evening. Potential for suntan/burn on fair skin, but only "British" precautions for skincare required, if my experience is anything to go by.

Thank you for the reply, this is the latest we can travel due to my pregnancy and not sure whether to risk it! Would love a nice beach holiday but don't fancy a long flight, asking the impossible I think!

Hi there.
I liveand work in Tenerife as a childcarer and Feburary can be a lovely month to be on holiday here as the weather is not TOO hot but warm enough to get a tan.

From what i recall last feb it gotupto 26c in the day and around 17c at night so yes to bringing a light cardi for those evenings.

Between feb and may are rather popular here as the weather is plesant and ideal for little ones.
Many think that the summer months are too hot and i can agree.

If you need any more questions answering or hotel recommendations etc please dont hesitate to let me know.

Lisa.

Same as Lisa, but I can help with Lanzarote.

Thanks for the replies, sounds a bit more promising. We would like a good 4/5 star, ideally with a childrens club, but again I am not sure if childrens clubs would run at that time of the season. I've been looking at the Sensatori in tenerife, do you know it? or is there any others you would recommend? We are open to any of the canaries so any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, i am currently working at the sensatori the moment.
It is a very lovely hotel with wonderful swimming pools and they have a seperate childrens pool with a pirate ship and slides etc.It is also heated which is a bonus.
Youcan get conjoining rooms too and the rooms are also very nice indeed.
They also have a kids club but it is new so i have not had an experience with it as yet as i have been mainly doing night time babysitting.
Aparently there is no evening entertainment though so you may want to look into that further and you are not close to anything much so to leave the hotel you are looking at around a 20/30 minute drive.

1 hotel that i will recommend until the end is the iberostar anthelia you are right on the beach and on that beach there is so much to do ... mini golf, large trampolines with the straps, inflatables in the sea (10 euros each for the whole day) a soft play area with trampolines, water sports, bike and cart hire and many shops, bars and restaurants to choose from.
This is my favourite part of the island and my favourite hotel on the island is the one i just mentioned, the iberostar anthelia as the rooms are lovly, and you can get them conjoining and the pools are beautiful and they have a fantastic kids club with loads going on and then in the evenings there is a mini disco followed by a teriffic show (which i am normally booked for so i can run around with the kids when the parents have a nice quiet meal)

Hope this helps and sorry if iwas rambaling haha.

hi lisa2 sorry to jump in here, but interested in sensantori, although you don't work there, is the creche and kids clubs up and running? do you know what's the weather like over christmas? thanks so much... about to check out iberostar anthelia now! :)

Hi there.
I do work there sometimes in the evenings, have a family coming out on friday and i will be babysitting every night for them for 2 weeks.
Yes, the kids club is very much up and running from what i hear.
I had a family here 3 weeks ago that thought it was great.
I dont know how old your little one/s are but usually if under 3 yrs you need to pay for them to go in ... this is why i am called upon a lot as my rates are a lot less than the 5* hotels and i am qualified with 15 yrs experience etc.

Weatherwise ... lets just say it was 28 degrees for a lot of december last year, too hot to feel christmassy haha (for me anyway)
The year before was more around the 23/26 degrees that it normally is so still very plesant.

Let me know how you get on with your hotel research and any other questions, just let me know.
Lisa.

We went to Lanzarote in Feb half term one year and it was disappointingly cool. It got up to about 18 - 20 degrees during the day and in the evening a cardigan wasn't sufficient to keep warm.

You could try Abama in Tenerife which is proper 5 star, with a very good kids club and good rooms for families too. Wish it was me!!
