We are thinking about going, but I can't even understand the web site Shock any tips before we go? There will be a mum and dad, a 3,1 year old and a baby.

Are you planning on staying in one of their hotels, a nearby non Disney hotel or a day trip?

The food is very expensive there.

I have been going regularly since it opened in 1992, so fair to say I know it pretty well!
Food in resort is not cheap, but no more expensive than theme parks over here ( and at least Disney have drinking water fountains in both parks, and do not charge for Fastpasses, which is more than I can say for Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington WOA.) There are ways to save money in Disneyland.
Rather than repeating myself by posting everything here, can I ask you to look at the Trip Advisor Marne La Vallee forum? This covers Disneyland Paris, and I and others are replying to questions on that forum every day.We have a Top Questions list, which you can look at which covers most things, and if you join TA ( free) you can then ask your own questions too.
We can help with where to stay, how many days you need, best ticket prices, resort maps, dining, prices, planning and just about anything you need to know. It is a very friendly forum, and new posters are very welcome. You can also read through Trip Reports which will give you an idea of how others have spent their time there.
I just don't have time to post in detail on two forums, as I spend a lot of time on the Trip Advisor MLV one.It is also easier for me to access all my links there.

I have answered previous Disneyland Paris questions on Mumsnet, so if you scroll down you will find them. They may help.
