Somewhere warm and nice over Christmas ?

We had booked time off over christmas with a view to going to NZ with DS aged 4.5. However we just feel it is a lot of travelling and time in the air, for not a whole load of time in the country when we get there even with a 3 week break.

So now as we have the time off arranged I'm trying to persuade DH to go somewhere else.

I would be keen to do a Disney cruise, but DH less keen due to the travelling time involved to Florida. Can anyone recommend anywhere that will be reasonably warm, has kids club or similar for DS so he doesn't get bored and won't absolutely break the bank ?

I would consider Oman. We lived there for three years and saw rain twice. The people are friendly and the beaches stunning. Apart from the sea side it can be a bit light on attractions though. There are only so many forts you can visit.

We went to the holiday village in Egypt last Christmas. It was so good with such great facilities for kids that we've booked to go back this year. Weather was perfect every day - about 27 degrees.

I don't think Florida would involve much more travelling than the Middle East though, would it? Only an hour or two more to fly there, surely?

Thanks folk. DH is now talking about saving money so we might not be going anywhere, oh well.
