travel jabs - how long do they last?

Had a series of travel boosters in March this year for a trip, does anyone know how long they last. I'm travelling to Bali next month. GP chock-a-block for appointments and it's now less than 6 weeks before we go.

Depends on what the jabs were. Hepatitis? Typhoid? More info here

Depends what you had; you need to see the practice nurse anyway, GPs don't tend to do travel health.

Ideally have them at least 2-3 weeks before you travel - if you require Hep B and Japanese Encephalitis then you need to start them now.

If you can't get in to the surgery, find out what you had and when and tell me on here and I'll tell you what you might need! (am a practice nurse)

oh cool Sidge. I had Hep B and typhoid booster, same for DD who is 2.9. We're only going to a resort, so no jungle-stuff required

Aaaah, looking at the link it might have been Hep A (it's whichever one that you get lifetime protection if you repeat within the year) - it's all on record at the doctors obv.

OK typhoid lasts for 3 years so you're OK. If you have 2 Hep As then you're covered for approx 20 yrs.

Also good idea to be in date for diphtheria, tetanus and polio.

thanks. Got an appointment later this week now to check how I'm fixed. Would be quite good to have the 20 year Hep thing, so we shall see...
