Villa in the Algarve this October - help!

Hi everyone,

DH and I, DS1 who is 2.5yo and DS2 who is 4 months, and the in-laws will be spending a week in the Algarve in October (not half-term week).

Can anyone recommend a 3-bed villa, or a good website to start looking for one? I am starting with zero knowledge of the area.

We would want access to a pool (either our own or very close walking distance with the boys), I presume in mid October it will need to be heated?? And not too far to a beach. Otherwise we will have a car so not too picky about exact location.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Have a look at Rocha Brava website- it's near Carveoiro.

We love the town of Lagos in the Algarve, having been several times.

We always use owners direct or holiday lettings. You will def need pool heating, which is an option you can tick on when doing the property search on owners direct.

My biggest bit of advice is always ring the owner, that way you get a feel of what they are like so you feel happier sending your money to them!!!

Enjoy.

We're also looking for a villa in the algarve for next May - We want to go to the east though - Monte Gordo/Tavira. Honestly, I spent about two hours trawling last night and am still nowhere near making a decision ! Sorry, that was really helpful wasn't it..

We stayed in a villa called casa mocho, which was a bit inland but not too far from the beaches, and not too far either from Tavira (which is by far the nicest place in the algarve IMHO). There is a nice pool, which can be heated at extra cost, although it's not fenced in or covered so you would have to be very careful about your older DC (ours was fine, she was just over 2 when we went.

Let me see if I can find a link..... here it is:
