Disneyland Paris Bag Search Summer 2010

Hello !
I wondered if any other parents visited DLP in July/August 2010 and had their bags searched and were asked if they had alcohol, knives or (believe it or not in front of the children) a BOMB ?. This stupid question raised all sorts of questions and concerns as we had just walked past a raft of security/fire engines near the entrance and then saw the unexpected closure of the Castle and a couple of rides raising fears that there may be a security alert in the park. Sounds daft but this put a downer on the start of our day. DLP not taking our email advising them of the incident seriously saying they are not aware of any other similar incidents and blaming a private security contractor. I would like to hear if any other families were treated this way please ?. If we had said we had a bomb in our bag at the entrance I am sure we would have been arrested. I appreciate the security chap conserned thought he was having a joke and didn't mean any harm but we were not impressed. Thanks.

We were there for 5 days and were searched daily. A few times they mentioned liquids and knives but not bombs dear god.

Yes we were searched for dangerous stuff - had a fruit knife in bag which had to be binned, as did our friends. Infact the security guard got ours and waved it perilously close to my nose, befpre telling me to bin it.Hmm

But no mention of a bomb - that would have been the icing on the cake!

had a security guard try to confiscate my mum's diabetes pen - she has to inject 3 times a day...and she almost let herself be bullied into handing it over. I of course stepped in :)
