As above really!

DD is 5 weeks old, ideally would like to go somewhere warm for a week or two maybe in Oct/Nov (with DH and DS - 3.5yo), but not sure where.

Don't want to go somewhere too far, as DD is so young and may not have had all her first immumisations by then. We don't normally do package hols but would be up for it this time, although not sure I would want to sit by a pool all day (or maybe I would, with 2 small children!). No idea where is nice to go that would be safe (i.e. non malarial, etc) for a child that young. Would also consider the UK but it is probably going to be pretty dire weather-wise, although I won't rule it out!

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks Smile

Canary Islands - beautiful, close, warm and no immunisations needed! I know they have a bad image because of all the big resorts, but a good friend and a colleague of mine go back there again and again year after year in the winter, and love them! We plan to go and check them out as soon as we can afford it...

Thanks! Have never been - heard Lanzarote can be a bit hit and miss for weather but Tenerife better.....

Do you have a recommendation of somewhere to stay? Prob 3 or 4 star, and with a pool. I don't normally sit round a pool, but DS would love it and I am sure I would quite like sitting around for a while!

I will ask my friends when I see them, as although I suggested it I've never been either! Just sounds like the ideal place to go with a baby!

You can go anywhere really, I took my dd to Turkey when she was a few weeks old and we had a lovely time.

These hotels in Turkey are good:

Lykia World
Letoonia
Hillside Beach Club

And these in Egypt:

Aqua Blu
Titanic Beach Spa and Aqua Park
Red Sea Holiday Village
Coral Sea
Panorma Bungalows

First Choice Holiday Villages are also good and are in a few locations.

Sensatori/ Gran Melia de Isora in Tenerife. Has a brilliant nursery/ kids club and an amazing hotel. Sold through Thomson.

Just to expand on the Channel Islands recommendation as it doesn't meet your wish for reliable sun (though it is usually more clement than the mainland):

a) there are still plenty of things to do -Gerald Durrell's zoo to see, some interesting museums with hands on bits, castles, beaches, bikes/multiples to hire, the pottery, the activities at the aMaizin Maze, and

b) it's very easy to reach - either short flight and hire a car (traffic us spookily gentle), or take your own over on the ferry. That is a particularly good option if you don't want to fuss about availability/quality of car seats and cots at destination.

You don't even need to change money (but it's nonNHS, so you will need health insurance) and as it's non EU you still get duty free.
