Hi all,

Am thinking of talking the kids up to London in December and am looking for a hotel that can accommodate a family of five (one a baby) within walking distance of West End with parking. Have stayed at Travelodge in Covent Garden with the children before and it was fine but no parking. Just wondered if you lot knew of anywhere good. Money not too much of an issue - but not The Dorchester or similar! Ta muchley

Do you really need parking?. I only ask as you really narrow down your options if this is needed (very few hotels have parking facilities in central London anyway).

Another thing to bear in mind is the congestion charge. The Congestion Charge is a daily charge for driving in a certain part of central London. It operates between 07:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday and is £8.

You're right - we could park in an NCP and widen our scope. Just decided that we'd drive up given our three are so small at the moment. They loved going on the train last time but with a baby thought car would be easier.

Have you considered self-catering. Would highly recommend Dolphin Square in Pimlico. Close to Pimlico tube or nice walk through the park to west end.

They have studios, 1,2 & 3 bed apartments. I stayed in a 1 bed & it was lovely.

Restaurant, gym and pool on site and some shops. They have parking & it's outside congestion area.

The Marylebone Hotel on Welbeck st is very nice too. Just behind the Debenhams on Oxford st. Not sure about parking.

Enjoy!
