Hi,

I am gong to Las Vegas with my mam and some friends next June for a week for my mams 50th. Anyone stayed in the Golden Nugget. What was it like.

My mam wants to stya in a 4-5*. She likes the LUXOR but that is a little to procey, and tbh on the piccies on line the Golden Nugget rooms look better.

Are the taxi fares cheap etc out there.

Any recommendations welcome.

TIA

Have a look at www.tripadvisor.com for reviews of this hotel (just type in the hotel name and reviews will appear).

The Golden Nugget is situated to the north (its on Fremont Street) of the newer hotels that have been built on the Strip.

We stayed at the Luxor but TBH you spend the day going from one casino to another so you hardly are at your room, you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy most of their facilities, so I think it won't make a huge difference... The Golden Nugget is not a new hotel and I would expect that it may look a bit grey in the shadow of newer flashy hotels, but as I said, you are hardly in your room and I would rather spend the money in shows, nice dinners, and...shopping!!!

Regarding taxis... you only really need them late at night when your feet hurt or in the middle of a terribly hot day. Otherwise, is noce to walk.
