Nerja or Torrox on the Costa Del Sol
Pals in Catalunya

RespectTheDoughnut · 30/08/2010 20:19

Just come back from near Frigiliana. Very nice.

RupertTheBear · 30/08/2010 20:19

Just got back from Frigiliana which is a gorgeous mountain village about 10 minutes from Nerja.
I also love Javea.

RupertTheBear · 30/08/2010 20:20

Ooh Respect - were we on the same flight??

RespectTheDoughnut · 30/08/2010 21:39

12.50 Malaga to Birmingham yesterday :)

Lionstar · 30/08/2010 21:43

We're off to Frigiliana on the 11th, can't wait!

frazzled74 · 31/08/2010 05:54

thanks, frigiliana and nerja both sound lovely, any hotel/villa reccommendations?

What kind of thing are you looking for?

RupertTheBear · 31/08/2010 12:48

We were on the 1300 to Leeds - probably saw you at passport control!

We stayed in a lovely but extremely remote villa on the hillside between Frigiliana and Nerja.

RespectTheDoughnut · 31/08/2010 13:00

I was the one with the very noisy toddler Hmm

We stayed in a villa on the hillside just outside Frigiliana. It would've been impossible without a car, though.

RupertTheBear · 31/08/2010 15:06

I am a bit freaked out that we were staying next to each other!!

Lionstar · 31/08/2010 21:33

Can I ask how bad the roads are to drive around there? (they look frighteningly narrow and precipitous on Google Map View). We too have a villa between Frigiliana and Nerja, not exactly sure where yet. Excitingly it has a pool, but I'm a bit terrified of the idea with little ones running around!

Did anyone make the journey to Grenada - what was that like.

Sorry OP for hijacking your thread. I looked for Villas on Holiday-Lettings, RentInNerja and FrigilianaRentals

PaulineCampbellJones · 31/08/2010 22:01

Roads are fine to drive, even though it's hilly they are pretty good. And there is one long motorway that runs along the whole costa. I used to live in Granada, it's a must visit city! Got married in the church in the main square in Nerja.

frazzled74 · 01/09/2010 08:47

thanks for replies, i am looking for easy connections/transfers from airport without a car. close to beach and a few shops, not too touristy, a good base to explore and relax.would like self catering so villa or apartment, or aparthotel if not too big.

I would have a look at Capistrano in Nerja for villas.
Or somewhere that is right in the heart of the place is Toboso
I'm sure the people that know other places well, will be online. Also maybe consider Mijas and as the others say, Frigiliana is beautiful.
Salobrena is also somewhere I have stayed a few times and loved.
