Sunny Holiday in December

We had planned to go to Florida over Christmas but the prices of the flights are scaring us. Can anyone recommend a family friendly sunny holiday which would be suitable for 2 active boys ages 4 & 6.
We are hoping to go for 2 weeks.

Ooh, this is where I leap on and highly recommend South Africa, specifically Cape Town. It's a fantastic long haul sunny destination and wonderful with kids. Flights can be expensive though so I'm not sure what kind of price you're looking at?

Once you get there though, it's relatively inexpensive compared to destinations in Europe or the Americas and you should find you can get good accomodation, eat well, hire cars etc for less than you would elsewhere.

It's also good for children as people are very child friendly, there are wonderful beaches and other family friendly activities. I'll be happy to make some suggestions.

Would you consider a house-swap? Geenee.com is one I've used before. Usually means a car is thrown in too. I'm getting offers for Oz this year, so might be worth a look?

My sister goes to Egypt every December. Snorkelling is great there :)

Can recommend Capetown, Mauritius and Barbados - have been to all 3 in Winter!

No idea how much flights would cost this year, but we went to Sri Lanka over Christmas & New Year & the weather was just brilliant, every single day. Swimming, playing on the beach, elephant sanctuary, all things little boys love.

I'm going to the Aqua Blu hotel in Sharm el Sheike next month. Egypt is meant to be warm all year round, there's an aquapark at the hotel with loads of pools/slides. I'm going AI and its £600 each for a week.
