Loire or the Vendee -Ideas for family friendly activities

Planning ahead!
Looking at camping in France next summer with a 1, 4 and 13 year old, either the Loire or Vendee. Would like some ideas of places to visit, things to do in the areas.

The best day out in the Vendee is without doubt the Puy du Fou. Sort of a cross between a historical theme park and universal studios. Worth the trip to the Vendee for that day alone.

we were there for several hours (our kids are 4 and almost 6). The Vendee also has some lovely beaches. We went to the Chateau du Talmont Hilaire as well, where our DD did a little "become a knight" thing (rode a pony to do some jousting, etc), which was a great day out too.
