Hi Looking for new places to visit and came across Longleat. Is it any good? Do you need more than one day to visit?

Thanks

I love Longleat. Pets Corner is lovely (I held a snake, not everyone's cup of tea but I liked it.) as is the Monkey enclosure (providing you remove your aeriel and don't have a roofbox) and the butterfly house. We visited in one day but it depends what you are interested in. I suppose without kids we could have explored the house too but we had a lovely day just in the animal bit. Keep meaning to take my DS there.

Thanks. Did you get tickets for the railways and everything else (passport ticket) or do you think just stick with the animal part?

We went this year and the kids loved it. The monkey part is closed now as they picked up some disease so they are building a drive by enclosure, not sure if its finished yet as we went back in May. We only did the safari as we were on our way to Devon on holiday and just wanted something for the kids to break up the long drive.

Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay near Longleat?

There's a centre parks right next to it, if you like that kind of thing?

We stayed in a travel lodge a short drive away from there.
