Just a quick review if anyone is thinking of going to the Evesham Hotel. Just come back from 2 nights there & it was great. The website is a bit dippy which may put people off but the place itself was great. Room - huge, food lovely, wine list extensive, gardens big, owner a bit wacky but welcoming. Loads of stuff for kids toys / climbing frames / swings etc. Great pool with loads of floats etc.
I highly recommend to anyone

whizz - I will second that. it was a few years ago we went when dd was just 2. Did you stay in one of the themed rooms with a room attached for the children? Apparently they get booked up a year ahead. How old is your dd/ds?
Now we have 2 dd's (4, and 2) we are thinking of going back there soon.

where is it?

Roobie · 29/08/2005 20:36

I spotted their website a couple of years ago and have often considered giving them a go - but is there anything worth visiting in the area though?

AuntyQuated · 29/08/2005 20:36

strangely Twig, it is in evesham!

Twiglett · 29/08/2005 20:37

that's a geographical location then

bagpussmice · 29/08/2005 20:40

in the Cotswolds somewhere - there are lots of quaint villages around that way.
we did no sightseeing when we were there... the hotel was enough for us with a pool and playthings for the little one and a wander around the town (hotel is a few mins walk from the town) and a river I seem to remember.

AuntyQuated · 29/08/2005 20:43

here you go Twig

No - had bog standard room which was still nice.
DS is almost 5

We went to Warwick Castle from Evesham - less than an hours drive away. Could also have gone to Stratford too - very near. There were quite a lots of leaflets in the hotel about other stuff - parks, woodlands, gardens etc.
The hotel is right near the river (3 min walk) - we almost went on a boat trip but didn't.
DS couldn't be dragged out of the pool- he loved it!

Is it the one with the teddy bear key fobs? If it is, I'd like to go with ds despite the teddy bear theme.

Whizzz · 30/08/2005 18:59

Yes - I assumed that they were wooden bears - but nope a real furry one about 6inches high!

Honestly there are a lot of bears around BUT it is good. It's just unique in an off-centre sort of way. The restaurant / wine list / cleanliness & friendly staff more than make up for the bears !

Oh, I'm glad that you had a nice time there as I have been wanting to go for a couple of years now!
