decent sunny weather at end of October without going long haul

We'd like to try and have a week away for October half term but with some guaranteed sunshine. I really don't want to do anything long haul (otherwise the children will go back to school more tired than when they broke up).

Will Turkey still be sunny? Or Greece? Or will it have to be Canary Islands/Lanzarote perhaps?

Sharm El Sheikh for lots of activity, restaurants, bars, diving, snorkelling. Varied hotels from all inclusives to simple self catering. The hotel pools are better than the beaches in Sharm but not too bad, depending where you go. Look at On The Beach for budget holidays to Egypt. We have used then several times. They are low budget, no frills but do deliver.

Tenerife is great but very pricey! I think there is only two options which is egypt or canaries. I've been to egypt - Sharm but I wouldnt take young children due to the deli belly and rec in stay in a high class non AI establishment.

If you want to stay safe, close to airport, hospital etc then I would go to Tenerife.

Or Madeira, which I found much friendler than Tenerife.
