Ranting sorry! On iphone do excuse the typing

Dh insisted it wasn't that bad last time he came here.

V expensive even with BOGOF vouchers, extra charges on everything. Exhibits v overcrowded and it's not that busy for a nice Sunday. People here keep barging me( heavily pregnant so not un noticeable) , constant taking photos everywhere so you can't walk.tour groups blocking pathways.

Food expensive but was the nearest to reasonable of everything.

Oh & dh saw families turned away from the princess tower as one child was over 8 ( even when the others weren't)

Dungeon done like London dungeon so unsuitable for under 10s

I haven't been but DH,DD, DS and PIL went there in April and had a great time. Although think PIL may have paid which would help a bit.

Cost is the worst thing I think! Paying that much & then having to pay more!

The Edwardian weekend thing quite good and fairly empty so quite enjoyed that

The live show freaked me out. I know they are probably just a bunch of local drama students but they sense my fear and pick on me, they always do at these things!

My mum took the ds's just a couple of weeks back and they loved it. It's their favourite castle apparently, closely followed by Canaerfon...we have been to loadsGrin

My mum did say it was very busy but she didn't mention any extra costs and they were there all day.

Paid for by tesco vouchers aswell so the cost wasn't such an issue.

DH and I went years ago whilst on our honeymoon but that was December so very quiet.

We go to loads of castles too that's why this stood out, usually national trust / English heritage & free/ cheapish to go in & loads of history. This seemed about the extras & performances.

Spent the pm sitting in various bits of gardens which were much quieter & nicer. Watched the birds of prey from a distance which was better without the crowds!
