Recommendations of things to do in or around ABERSOCH

We're off to Abersoch and believe the beaches are beautiful, however I'm a little concerned about the weather ...

Has anyone got any recommendations of things to do in and around Abersoch?

We go tomorrow ...so swift recommendation would be good

Ffestiniog Railway is in Porthmadog which isn't far.
Llechwedd Slate Caverns are about 12 miles away from Porthmadog.

...sorry, should have added, the weather was fairly decent so we spent most of the time on either Whistling Sands or Abersoch beach

Portmeirion is well worth a visit if you are heading Porthmadog way

we have just had a great week round there. i would second the railway in porthmadog. We had a lovely lunch at the Big Rock Cafe there too. We only had one day of bad weather and took DD swimming in pwhelli. There is a learner pool and a slide. My sister goes every year said lots of people buy a day pass for the Haven place near Pwhelli which has good stuff for wet weather. Could be a good option. Have a great time.
