Hi
Can anyone reccomend a good musical thats on at the moment. I want to take DD as a treat as shes never been to a London show.

I'm assumig the content of Dirty dancing will be too grown up, shame as I would love to see it. Would Sister Act or Legally blonde be too grown up as well ?

Lion King was absolutely AMAZING! It's one of the best ones I've seen and is on my 'to see again list!'

Also Billy Elliot

Not sure if it's still on but Mary Poppins was also great!

DD enjoyed Mamma Mia at that age.

Some of the story line went straight over her head (as it should), but she loved the music.

I downloaded the songs and printed off lyrics a few weeks before we went so she was familiar with the music - which, I think helped her enjoyment.

Lion King.

Possibly War Horse.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

LION KING! Definitely. We're taking dd for her 6th birthday (hopefully) in October. We saw it a few years back and have been waiting for her to be old enough ever since!

Legally Blonde - girls love it

My 6 year old LOVES Hairspray. Wicked is another good one.

I personally WOULDN'T take a 7 year old to see Billy Elliot. The language is a bit ripe! Our 6 year old has some of the songs on his iPod, but we had to censor them and couldn't put a lot on.

Have a look at www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/billyelliotthemusical/marrychristmasmaggiethatcher.htm for an example - scroll down to the last verse - or www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/billyelliotthemusical/solidarity.htm

Now we don't have a huge problem with language (we love Avenue Q and Rent etc) but, I wouldn't want a child of mine that young exposed to it.

Oh, and Chitty and Mary Poppins aren't on anymore.

I went to see Hairspray with my mum, and we both said my Dd age 6 would have loved it (She loves the film)

My friend said Lion King is amazing.

Hairspray is on tour at the moment and we are taking DS (the 6 year old) to see it at Milton Keynes in Sept :)

Bless him, he has two lists of days on his bedroom wall, one which goes to 'Annie Wednesday' (a week tomorrow) and one to 'Hairspray Tuesday'. He crosses one day off each morning :D
