Fowey Hall were advertising last time I was there.
Looked nice (but probably pricey.)

How about staying local and just going out to a hotel for the lunch/dinner? Might be much, much cheaper.

We did this year before last and decided to ditch the dishes and go out. We went to a four star hotel near here and I have never had such a disgusting meal. Very badly managed and nearly ruined our christmas.

Make sure you pick somewhere that you KNOW the food is good

We stayed at home last Christmas but went away the 27, 28 and 29 December. The price for this in-betweeny bit was some £200 per person cheaper than if we had gone Xmas or NY. We're doing it again this year and I've often found that after the excitment of Christmas it all goes a bit flat so was marvellous to have something to look forward to (not to mention the huge saving). Maybe worth considering?

Why not consider renting a house on the coast and eating out. Would be quite an adventure for everyone and probably tons cheaper. Maybe even link up with friends with childre. Just a thought.
