Hi - ( I am reposting this here as I think its better suited to this thread... )

I am trying to plan an overseas holiday for after baby is here - thought I had it all organised and then suddenly thought that baby may not be allowed to go certain places until all vacs are done - am I right ?
we were planning Egypt - a very good hotel and I will be exclusively breastfeeding ..but not sure if at three months this is even possible ..

anyone done it or have any idea ?

We have travelled a lot with my other two and Im well aware of the issue with water and stuff...we would be incredibly cautious - just wondering if you all think Im mad .....

Exclusive breastfeeding is perfectly possible at 3 months, and definitely advisable if you are travelling.

For most places, your personal immunity passes through the placenta and your breastmilk and protects the baby (somewhat) until the normal time for infant vaccinations.

Are you getting travel vaccs for yourself? I think you need to speak to a medic to see if your baby can have these as you are unlikely to be able to pass on this immunity in a short time with breastmilk alone.

Personally, I would go somewhere a lot less controversial, although I did go to Jamaica when DD was 3 months old and I didn't even think about vaccinations. There weren't any vaccinations recommended for the rest of us though.

took dd to morocco at 7wks

I had already had hep A & typhoid vax myself, DD had nothing

was a breeze

tbh getting the passport in the timeframe was the hardest bit of the whole trip
