We have a voucher for a child-free weekend away in November - free flights, we pay for the hotel. The choices are - Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Prague, Rome, Salzburg - which would you choose and why?

Rome.....beautiful, romantic, great food, lovely hotels, lots to do. Better out of season as it is cooler and less crowds and you will have a fab time.

Lucky you.

Rome here too, we got married there and it is the most gorgeous city, you will have a wonderful, magical time there!

Probably Amsterdam because it's been over 4.5 years since I indulged...

Rome. Hire a scooter and eat fantastic food.

Came back from Rome today - it was fanttastic. Mind you, also love Barcelona, Madrid and Prague. Amsterdam wouldn't give best value for money (too close) and have always found Austrians to be rather more up themselves rather than chilled. Must say Rome really impressed me.

November? The one that's furthest South

Have to say I'm a big fan of Barcelona and have been in all seasons. It would still be nice in November, and it has it all in one City - beach, shops, Gaudi/culture, and easy to walk about.

Went to Salzburg when I was a teenager. Very steeped in it's classical music history if thats your thing. Very beautiful. Personally though I would have to go for Rome or Barcelona, but thats because I'm not well travelled and haven't been to either yet. Lucky you! Hope you have a lovely time.
