We are spending 10 days near Weston and need some ideas for great days out (aside from the seaside Smile)

Willing to drive up to an hour to get to locations. Have two children under 6 who love swimming, animals, anything active.

We have already arranged a day at Bristol Zoo.

Would love ideas for sunny and wet days please!

TIA

Portishead has a lovely outdoor pool by the coast and also an indoor leisure pool that's great for children.

Noah's Ark near Wraxall is a great place for animals, and you can hold the rabbits etc. Also has an indoor place area with a big slide.

Thanks belgo.

Has the indoor pool got any slides?

here is the outdoor pool - you can see one of the Severn Bridges from just over the ridge.

Thanks again - Just have to hope for better weather!

We've been to Noah's Ark in the rain - it was still fab.

Horseworld in Bristol is another nice place to visit.

If you want to spend more time in Bristol there is now an aquarium here and they also do boat rides along the river from the Centre.

belgo · 13/08/2010 16:45

Although I'm sure Weston itself has an aquarium.

Science Museum looks great - can't be any busier than the one in London - that was mad when we went last year.

Taurus Crafts is lovely and there's a model village adjacent - not sure if it's too far though.

Country - indoor and outdoor play with loads of picnic tables.
Make sure to bring a packed lunch as the cafe is really slow.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/08/2010 16:56

Sorry Cattle Country.
