Self catering, Holiday accomodation in Devon or Cornwall ?

I Want to take my mother away for a few days in Devon or Cornwall sometime between 13 - 17th October, I need to find cheap , but clean accomodation for myself, my mother, and 3 children. Any ideas please ?
Needs to be cheap because the train down from Scotland is costing a fortune this time..
Oh, and if someone could book good weather that would be good too, she wants to go to minorca, but our budget just won't go that far.

Try Cornish cottage holidays on the web or just type in something similar in search engine and you'll get a load. We've just got back from 2 weeks in a CCH cottage and it was fantastic and much cheaper than the others.

Had a thought, if you're going by train beware you don't get a cottage in the middle of nowhere - lovely and relaxing when you have a car, bad for the bunions when you don't! They don't always make it clear, ours said the nearest pub was amile away, I'd love to have known where that was!!!

Thankyou dizzymama, will have a look at those, yes I think travelling by public transport might present a few challenges,The children and me would walk for miles, but if mother has to walk more than a few yards it's too far

Not sure how cheap you mean but I had a good cottage through helpful holidays . They are based Devon and specialise in Devon/Cornwall area.

I live in Croyde North Devon....not far from Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.

That looks good, what is the public transport like around the area jayzmummy ? My brother used to work in N Devon, but we used to drive a car then, we will either need to hire one or use buses or trains. We will be travelling from Exeter, I will have a look on line, but are links generally good or bad ?

Thankyou jayzmummy, we are now booked in for the weekend. My children will love the swimming pool and Mum won't have to walk too far.
