Day out in London for a 7 and 6 year old

I will be taking a 7 and 6 year old to London next week. The old favourite is the Science Museum/Natural History Museum but I am thinking of trying to branch out into something new. Can anyone recommend something please? I was wondering about London Eye or Museum of London. Any other suggestions gratefully received......

London eye is fab but a bit pricey for a short trip. It's west end theatre week soon with free entry to the theatres for kids, it may be worth a google to see if it's on next week. The British Museum is always great as you can see the Mummies. How about one of the London Parks if its warm. A pedalo at Regents park? Madame Tusards could be fun and that's v.near to Regents Park. The museum of childhood is also very good but thats not central london, its Bethanal Green (I think)
Have fun

Definately a day at the park...Regent's Park, Hampsted Heath, Greenwich Park, Hyde Park...

Children's theatre? There is a theatre called the unicorn theatre beside London bridge. It does only shows for children.

London zoo.

London aquarium.

Hamleys. (can spend quite a few hours in there just playing woth things and then get away with just buying something small.)

I took my DD8 and my GD6 to the Golden Hinde last year.
We traveled to London on the train so managed to get 2-1 tickets for the Golden Hinde, I just printed off the vouchers the day I went from the 2-1 days out website.

The kids had a great day, It happened to be one of their Pirate Fun Days, where the kids can dress as pirates, they get a tour round the ship, story time and a treasure hunt.

In the afternoon we took a River Taxi up the River Thanes (again with train tickets I got 2-1 vouchers).

A cheapish and fab day out.

Thank you for all your suggestions. In the end I wrote down all the ideas and said that they could choose one each. We ended up with a boat trip and the Zoo, both of which were really good. Plus we climbed the Monument as an extra!
it was a great day!
