we are spending 2 days in norwich, can anyone recommend child things to do?, will probably spend one day shopping and walking about but would like to do something more geared towards 4 and 6 yr old on the 2nd day.

I second the Inspire Discovery Centre in the old St Michael's church. It's like the Launch Pad at the Science Museum, but less busy. Lots of hands on stuff, and I had difficulty getting the DCs to leave.

Ooooh, I loved going to Norwich when I was small. Wonder if the things we used to go to are still around - brass rubbing, Strangers' Hall - am off to google!

Loved it here, and here.

Watching with interest as in Norwich next week. Do any of you know of any good outdoor play areas or park/open spaces where the DC's can run around?

Just outside Norwich if you've got a car is Bewilderwood which is very good for running around

Waterloo park is fab.

Ranworth, just North of Norwich, has a Nature reserve with Visitor Centre. Park at the Staithe, look at the boats, feed the ducks, then wander along the Boardwalk to the Centre. There is a mezzanine level that has Binoculars you can use and look out over the Broad and bird watch. Also big table for drawing. Our 3yr old loves it and asks to go every time we visit Norwich.
