The place I want to go to says:

Part of the Thomson Family Resorts programme until October 2010, Thomson Kids' Club from May 2011

not sure of the difference

I think that the family resorts are bigger and more 'family' orientated all through, whereas lots of smaller places have kids club - we went to portugal in May to a really rather quiet place and there was a kids club as part of it, but very little else for 'families', which actually suited us down to the ground.

The family resorts have the following

Fun-filled Thomson Kids' Clubs and parent & toddler sessions
Conveniently-located parent and baby rooms
Family friendly entertainment by day and night
Children's buffets, including a selection of healthy options
Interconnecting rooms for extra peace of mind
Playgrounds and soft play areas
Supervised evening parties so you can enjoy a night off
Great value with free child places

Where as the kids club one will probably be just that, a kids club for different ages and maybe a mini disco for them. If the resort has a playground they will still have access to that. So less full on family stuff.
