Hitchin Lavender Farm

I'm wanting to arrange a day out and meet up with another family. Is Hitching Lavender Farm a day out or is it more a beautiful spot to pick lavender :)

Somewhere between the two. Half day out, at a stretch, if you do a guided tour (prob only feasible with older children). Otherwise it is somewhere to pop for half an hour or an hour at most imho.
