Escape the recession for a year

Job hunting is becoming a bore do DH and I are plotting our escape from London for a year to live somewhere cheaper & sunnier. I'm thinking beach time possibly in southern India, and he has an NZ passport so we could also live & work in Oz or New Zealand.
I'd love any thoughts or tips anyone might have in advance, for planning a long trip such as this with two little ones, we have a new born & a 2.5yr old.
Thanks!
Weloveboo

I have no useful advice to offer but I'm very envious and hope you all have a great time. If it was me I'd be off to southern India like a shot ...

With a newborn and toddler I'd be going to OZ or NZ rather than India, but I'm the biggest wimp ever.

Weloveboo - we are doing exactly what you are doing.

We picked NZ but hope we like it enough to stay longer than a year.
