Hoping over to Bordeaux in a couple of weeks for a wedding and lo will be 4 months.

Any pearls of wisdom for managing the flight? I understand itwould help to breastfeed on take off and landing and I think the carrier has said we can take our pushchair right up to place.

Any other advice? Chances are our 3yr old will be more hassle!!!!

I have no advice but am shamelessly bumping as I too, will be flying to Bordeaux in a few weeks' time with my 6 month old and would be intersted in any pearls.....

My advice would be to use a sling and forget about a pushchair.

I flew to Oz with a four month old (and three year old) and she really was no trouble. Gets hard when they are mobile and won't sit still when asked!

Give your baby a feed as you take off and land. The nice doctor in the hospital told us that as we had to take DD to A&E after her first flight. Sling is also a very good idea, especially for negotiating security and getting onto the plane.

Flying with 4 month old DS was no problem. Even on horrid horrid Ryanair, when I was squashed between 2 people I didn't know.

All I did was BF him as much as poss (take off and landing definitely). And he dozed the rest of the way.

Flying with DS at 18 month old was another thing! I agree... I would worry more about your 3 year old

Never found pushchair a problem. Have always just pushed it up to the steps on the plane with DS in it, taken DS out and left it with the bloke standing there. It was there waiting for me at the bottom of the steps when we'd landed. Easy peasy.

Goos luck
